Welcome To St Matthew's Asian Congregation
Asian Congregation or "Asiai Kalisiya" is a congregation at St Matthew’s Church, Walsall and is part of the Church of England. It was officially started in January 2004 and is mainly a gathering of people who have come from India and Pakistan.
This welcoming Congregation meets every Sunday at 3:00 p.m for worship
in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi at St Matthew’s Church Centre Walsall. The service is truly multi-cultural, where Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi speakers are usually able to understand one another. When English-speaking preachers are invited, their words are interpreted into a mix of languages which presents a heavenly like foretaste. The worships and singing are in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi with Eastern music and sermons in mixed Urdu and Punjabi. People with their families from a variety of denominational backgrounds attend the services. The Holy Communion services are conducted using an Anglican rite. During the week there are other activities with children, youth and ladies with a strong focus on Christian teachings and fellowship. There are also special times when it broadcasts religious programmes from Urdu/Hindi radio and television.
If you are looking for an opportunity to be blessed with truly multi-cultural worship services, just join us. For more details please contact The Revd. Luther Fiaz Samuel on 01922 631814.
